Firecracker hot dogs are my favorite answer to the “what’s for dinner” panic. They look like something from a food festival, but they cost about a dollar more than plain hot dogs do. The bright red chili sauce, the heap of diced onions, the fresh herbs all over the top, it’s very dramatic for a Tuesday. And the whole thing comes together in twenty minutes, which is about how long your average pasta takes anyway.
